PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a noise in a rotary type developing device. SOLUTION: This rotary type developing device is constituted of plural developing units GK-GC and a fixed-side rotational force transmission member FD. The units GK-GC are respectively provided with an input gear G7 to which rotational force is inputted because it is meshed with a disconnection gear G17 supported by a fixed frame when they are rotated to be moved to a developing position P1 and the transmission gear of the developing unit side. The transmission member FD is supported by the above mentioned fixed frame and provided with a gear supporting arm 70 rotated so as to keep the meshing state of the gears G17 and G7 while the gear G7 is moved to a detaching position after it is passed through a connecting position before they arrive at the position P1, a fixed-side transmission gear G16 transmitting rotation driving force to the gear G17, an arm rotational force imparting member 71 rotating the arm 70 toward the connecting position and a stopper 67 having an elastic surface for stopping the rotation of the arm 70.
