<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce cost and to simplify connecting work in a connecting structure of an universal joint and a shaft body. SOLUTION: An insertion hole, having a non-circular cross section, is formed by axially recessing one of yorks 21 of an universal joint 5, while an end 4b of a shaft body 4 is provided with a non-circular cross section corresponding to the fitting and insertion hole 24 of the york 21, and the end 4b of the shaft body 4 is press fitted and connected to the fitting and insertion hole 24 via a cylindrical insert body 2 made of a resin material. By applying this structure, an outer peripheral surface of the end 4b of the shaft body 4 and an inner peripheral surface of the fitting and insertion hole 24 of the york 21 are engaged with one another around a shaft core via the insert body 25, and the rotary torque is transmitted therebetween. Furthermore by inserting the insert body 25 between the fitting and insertion hole 4 and the end 4b of the shaft body 4, the advancing and retreating movement of the end 4b of the shaft body with respect to the fitting and insertion hole 24 becomes smooth, and for example, the operation force in accompany with the tilt operation can be reduced.</p> |
