PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toroidal type continuously variable transmission capable of enhancing durability by without causing damaging even when a trunnion is repeatedly subjected to an excessive load. SOLUTION: This toroidal type continuously variable transmission comprises an input disc; an output disc disposed coaxially with the input disc; a trunnion 11 oscillating about pivot part 10 having torsion with respect to both center shafts of the input and output discs; and a power roller 10 supported by the trunnion 11 and rotatably and tiltably connected between the input disc and the output disc. In this toroidal type continuously variable transmission, the trunnion 11 comprises a body plane surface 18 which holds a displacement shaft rotatably supporting the power roller 10, and the pair of pivot parts 10 provided integrally to respective ends of the body plane surface 18. A connecting part A between the body plane surface 18 and the pivots 10 forms successive metal flow 32. |
