PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize high-speed processing by making use of burst transfer of a memory in a process for rotating an image by a copying machine, a printer, etc. SOLUTION: The figure (a) shows original image data before rotation. Each pixel is composed of data having 8-bit length. The coordinates of each pixel are represented as Px-y (x is a coordinate value in a horizontal scanning direction and y is a coordinate value (line number) in a vertical scanning direction). When the image is rotated counterclockwise by 90 deg., pixels at the right-most pixels of individual lines are read out. The figure (b) shows the mentioned processing. Then bits which have been read out are rearranged by pixels as shown in the figure (c). The rearranged pixel data are sent by burst transfer in a specific unit (32 bits × 8 words = 32 pixels). |
