PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use fonts which are not prepared in a programmable display by the programmable display without necessitating a large memory capacity. SOLUTION: The image of the character specified from a text which is being produced in the editor 32 in a computing device 3 is extracted and the font data of the character are produced in a bitmap format. Then, the font data are down loaded into the FEPROM 14 (flash memory) of a programmable display 1 and the data are added to the font of the display 1. At the time of plotting a character, the front data are read out from the FEPROM 14 by a plotting run time 17 to developed in a RAM 13 once and, moreover, the data are developed in a VRAM 15 together with picture data. Then, the plotting of the character including a controlled picture is performed by a graphics driver 16. |
