PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of being used at least in both of a fluorescence detecting system and an autoradiographic system and capable of safely forming image at a low cost. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is equipped with an exciting light source 20 emitting white light toward an image carrier 40, a CCD camera, a camera lens 17 provided on the image carrier side of the CCD camera, a filter means 22 provided on the image carrier side of the exciting light source, and an exciting light cutting filter unit 16 provided between the CCD camera and the camera lens. The filter means 22 is equipped with four filters 22a, 22b, 22c, 22d different in transmission wavelength, the exciting light cutting filter unit is equipped with three exciting light cutting filters different in transmission wavelength, and the filters 22a, 22b, 22c, 22d are constituted so as to be capable of being changed over.
