PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small antenna system obtaining a large gain even with respect to vertical polarization to the surface of a mounting substrate mounting a chip antenna. SOLUTION: The antenna system 10 is formed with the chip antenna 11 provided with a first terminal 1 and a second terminal 2 on a surface, a linear external conductor 12, and a mounting substrate 15 provided with transmission lines 131, 132 and a ground electrode 14 on a surface and mounting the antenna 11 and the conductor 12. Then, the first terminal 1 of the antenna 11 is connected to one end of the line 131 and the second terminal 2 of the antenna 11 is connected to one end of the line 132, thereby, the antenna 11 is mounted to the surface of the substrate 15. In addition, the other end of the line 131 is connected with the high-frequency circuit part RF of a radio equipment mounting the system 10. In addition, the conductor 12 is connected to the other end of the line 132 so as to be vertical to the surface of the substrate 15, thereby the conductor 12 is mounted in a direction vertical to the surface of the substrate 15.
