PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To output a good sine wave and put no restriction on an output frequency by providing AC switching elements disposed in the form of a matrix of the number of input phases by 2M and delivering M-phase output by paired M single-phase constituted of 2M output terminals. SOLUTION: The single-phase output AB, that is, an output A terminal 6 and an output B terminal 7 (shown by vectors), and the input UVW, that is, U-phase input 1, V-phase input 2, and W-phase input 3 (shown by apexes of a fixed triangle), are connected at each interconnection, The single-phase output AB is rotated in six stages, by 60 deg. in one stage. As usual, a command signal is transmitted to switching elements from an IC or a computer through a photo coupler, etc. A three-phase load 5 becomes a secondary winding of an input transformer and the three input terminals UVW 1, 2, 3 becomes three phase output terminals. As a result, three-phase AC can be directly converted to any frequency within a speed limit of an element and a loss is small and regeneration of power can be secured.
