PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable rearranging data to a place where is made to be faulty place by detecting the error state of a medium, storing data being in the detected error state in the place of a different medium and analyzing the data. SOLUTION: When an error is present on a disk by detecting a read error, the data are written in a sparing table, Pattern recognitions of the data are performed by accessing to data on the sparing table which practically correspond to the data on the disk to make the data correspond to stains, scratches and fingerprints or the like. Whether the error is a restorable error or not is judged and when the error is judged to be the restorable error, the place of the error is marked and a user is requested to take a necessay measure. In the restoring of the error, at first, the disk is to be cleaned. When a place where is identified restorable is assumed to all show satisfactory data, the latest data arranged on the sparing table are read in to a corresponding place on the disk.
