PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a rotor for a squirrel-cage induction machine, in which a rotor bar and a short-circuit ring are coupled by a screw tightening method. SOLUTION: In this rotor 1 for a squirrel-case induction machine, a rotor bar 21 which is loaded in a coil slot 81, a short-circuit ring 29 in which counterbored holes 28 used to load washer faced nuts 23 are formed, the washer faced nuts 23, and a squirrel-cage winding 2 which is provided with setscrews are used, as compared with conventional examples. The rotor bar 21 is provided with external thread parts 22, which are formed in both end parts in the longitudinal direction so as to form steps. External threads are formed in the end parts of the external thread parts 22. The washer faced nuts 23 are placed on the external threads provided at the external thread parts 22. The short- circuit ring 29 is coupled to the rotor bar 21, by a screw tightening method in cooperation with the external thread parts 22. The setscrews are placed in screw holes, which are bored from proper planes provided at the hexagonal head parts of the washer faced nuts 23, and they prevent the washer-faced nuts 23 from becoming loosened.
