PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily provide a capacitor, whose high frequency characteristic and leakage current characteristic are superior in the constitution of a capacitor in which a foil-shaped metallic electrode is used as one electrode, and a conductive high polymer in which a high polymer layer and a dielectric layer are interposed is used as the other electrode and a method for manufacturing the capacitor. SOLUTION: Adhesive tapes 2 and 3 in at least two rows are adhered to the surface and back face of a foil-shaped metal electrode, and a conductive high polymer is formed. Then, the adhesive tape which is not adjacent to a conductive high polymer layer is peeled and removed, and an electrode is formed. Thus, electrically insulating property between the conductive high polymer layer and the metal electrode can be improved, and superior leakage current characteristic can be realized. Also, by using polyethylene dioxithiophene with high electrical conductivity as the conductive high polymer layer, a capacitor whose high frequency characteristic which are more superior can be easily realized.
