PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact wire rope winding device having strong fixing force. SOLUTION: In a wire rope winding device which has a winding drum 6 provided with a cylindrical drum main body 6a and an end plate part 6b integrally formed on an inner peripheral face of the drum main body 6a and fitted in a support shaft 12, in which wire ropes 7, 8 are wound around an outer peripheral face of the drum main body 6a, and the wire ropes 7, 8 are wound and wound back by rotating the winding drum 6 forward and reversely, recessed parts 19 are formed at both end fringes of the drum main body 6a, and basic end parts of the wire ropes 7, 8 pulled into the drum main body 6a through the recessed parts 19 are fixed on the inner peripheral face of the drum main body 6a by fasteners 20.
