PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer selector and a method to set a printer as a usually used printer by using an arbitrary printer among a plurality of printers a specified number of times. SOLUTION: An external storage device 18 of a computer 10 is provided with the name 24 of a usually used printer, the name 26 of a lastly used printer, a counter 28 to store continuous printing frequencies of the lastly used printer and a table 32 to store specified use frequencies 30. The lastly used printer name 26 is set as the name 24 of the usually used printer when the value of the counter becomes equal to or higher than the value of the specified use frequencies.
