PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the control of refrigerant in an absorption type cooling and heating device. SOLUTION: A refrigerant control device 50, used in an absorption type cooling and heating device, comprises a liquid receiving tank 64, storing a predetermined amount of refrigerant, bred from a refrigerant supplying pipeline 47 carrying the refrigerant from the sump 44 of an evaporator to the header 39 of the same. The liquid receiving tank 64 is provided with a returning pipeline 55 on the upper part of the same and when the tank 64 is filled, the refrigerant is returned from the tank 64 into the sump 44 through the pipeline 55. On the other hand, the tank 64 is provided with a drain pipeline 54, including a drain valve 58, on the bottom of the tank 64 and when a system requires additional refrigerant, the drain valve 58 is opened and the contents of the tank 64 is discharged quickly into the sump 44.
