<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To connect connection pipes having different diameters with each other with a single structure without replacing a part of a mechanical pipe joint. SOLUTION: An escape preventive member 5 has a variable abutment clearance, and is brought into contact with an outer surfaces of connection pipes of different diameters when it is varied in clearance. One of a box nut 2 and the escape preventive member 5 has an outer side contact surface 7 separated from a joint main body 1, and an inner side contact surface 8 on the side of the joint main body 1. The outer and inner side contact surfaces 7, 8 are inclined in respect to a center axis 1c of the joint main body 1. The inner side contact surface 8 exceeds the outer side contact surface 7 in the diameter. In order to connect a connection pipe 6 having a larger diameter, the outer side contact surface 7 formed on one of the box nut 2 and the escape preventive member 5 is in contact with the other. In order to connect the connection pipe 6 having a smaller diameter, the inner side contact surface 8 formed on one of the box nut 2 and the escape preventive member 5 is in contact with the other. The escape of the connection pipe 6 is thus prevented.</p> |
