PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the structure of a joint nonexisting in the past by connecting two opposite rails forming the joint practically as one rail as far as the transit of wheels is concerned by some method while securing an inevitable expansion gap. SOLUTION: The head sections of opposite rails 1, 2 are shrunk in width at a fixed ratio over the fixed and same length from end sections at the end sections, they are slidably fitted, the head sections of the rails 1, 2 are integrated at a slide section 10 to complete the normal head section width of one rail in this region, then the rails 1, 2 forming the slide section 10 are slid in opposite directions to each other to keep gaps 3, 4 between the rails 1, 2.
