PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably produce a polyacetal resin having a low content of unstable molecular terminals in a high yield for a long term by subjecting trioxane, a cyclic ether and/or a cyclic formal, and a silane compound to cationic copolymerization. SOLUTION: Trioxane, a comonomer component comprising a cyclic ether and/or a cyclic formal and in an amount of 20 wt.% or lower, preferably 0.1-15 wt.%, of trioxane, and at least one compound selected from among silane compounds represented by formulas I to IV and in an amount of 1-5,000 ppm, preferably 10-2,000 ppm, of trioxane are copolymerized in the presence of a cationically active catalyst to give a polyacetal resin having a melt index (according to ASTM D1238-57T, condition E) of 0.1-100 g/10 min. In the formulas, R1, R5, R6, R9, R10, R11, R13, R14, R15, and R16 are each H or a 1-6C hydrocarbon group; and R2, R3, R4, R7, R8, and R12 are each H, a 1-12C hydrocarbon group or a hydrocarbon group having a functional group containing an F, O, N, S or P atom.
