PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition which has an excellent anti-inflammatory effect and is used for oral cavities, by using an anti-inflammatory agent component together with erythritol. SOLUTION: This composition contains (A) an anti-inflammatory agent component (for example, lysozyme chloride) preferably in an amount of 0.01-1 wt.% based on the whole amount of the composition together with (B) erythritol in an amount of 10-20 wt.%. Erythritol produced by the fermentation of glucose is mainly used as the component B. The composition may be prepared in a dosage form such as dentifrice, for example, tooth paste, a cream for massaging gums, a topical coating agent, or the like. In the case of the dentifrice, a polishing agent (for example, calcium biphosphate dihydrate), a binder (for example, carrageenan), a thickener (for example, glycero), a surfactant (for example, sodium laurylsulfate), a perfume (for example, menthol), and the like may be compounded. A cationic sterilizer such as chlorhexidine, a phenolic compound such as triclosan, and the like may also be compounded.
