PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ISAR image retrieving device for quickening an image identifying work and for reducing the error of image identification due to the individual difference of an operator at the time of retrieving an image by retriev ing a data base in which plural identification candidate images are stored based on the number of pixels of a featured object in a binary image, and outputting an identification candidate ISAR image based on the retrieved result. SOLUTION: An image thresholding circuit 1 separates the strength of radar reflected waves by a prescribed threshold. Thus, an ISAR image to be identified can be converted into a black and white image. A number of pixel detecting circuit 2 calculates the total number of pixels of a featured object such as a ship in the ISAR image to be identified which is converted into the black and white image, and outputs the obtained number of pixels. A number of pixel judging circuit 3 retrieves identification candidate data from an identification candidate data base 4 by using the number of pixels indicating the featured object detected by the number of pixel detecting circuit 2 as a key, and outputs the applicable identification candidate ISAR image as an identification candidate image.
