PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a zoom lens system consisting of small number of lenses, made compact, having high power variation and further positively using a plastic lens in order to reduce cost. SOLUTION: This zoom lens system consists of a 1st group Gr1 having positive power, a 2nd group Gr2 having positive power and a 3rd group Gr3 having negative power in order from an object side, and is constituted so that the respective groups Gr1 to Gr3 are moved to the object side in the case of zooming from the shortest focal distance state to the longest focal distance state. In such a case, the 1st group Gr1 and the 3rd group Gr3 include at least one plastic lens, respectively.
