PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase sealability, by sealing a cylinder block and a cylinder head with a pair of outer seat portions provided on a body portion, and by sealing the cylinder block and the cylinder head with a pair of inner seat portions provided in both side portions of the body portion. SOLUTION: Between a cutout 4 of a cylinder block 2 and a cutout 6 of a cylinder head 5, a seal member 1 is disposed across the cutouts 4, 6 and by applying pressure of a combustion chamber 3 to the seal member 1, airtightness is held between them. The seal member 1 comprises: a pair of outer seat portions 12 which are disposed both ends of a body portion 10 and are made press-contact with an inner circimferential face 4B of the cutout 4 and an inner circumferential face 6B of the cutout 6; and a pair of inner seat portions 13 which are disposed at each end of a pair of side portions 11 extending on a side of a combustion chamber from the both ends of the body portion 10 and are made press-contact with a side face 4A of the cutout 4 and a side face 6A of the cutout 6.
