A photographic element comprises a support bearing at least one silver halide emulsion and at least one high-boiling solvent of structure I, below: wherein: each m is independently 0, 1 or 2; each R1 is independently methyl or ethyl; n is 2 to 7; each R2 and each R3 may be the same or different and is individually selected from hydrogen or an alkyl group with up to five carbon atoms; and the sum of the number of carbon atoms in each R1 plus each R2 plus each R3 taken together is four to eight.
