PURPOSE:To produce L-threo-3-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)serine derivative (L- threo-DOPS derivative for short) useful as a medicine by a simple method. CONSTITUTION:A racemic-threo/erythro-DOPS derivative is treated with an enzyme of specifically hydrolyzing D-threo/erythro-DOPS derivative and L- erythro-DOPS derivative into glycine and protocatechualdehyde derivative. In addition to more inexpensive and more efficient production of the objective substance than a method using an optically resolving agent, economically, substances obtained by the hydrolysis are reusable. |
