A tablet of compacted particular laundry detergent or cleaning product comprising at least one surfactant, at least one builder and if desired, additional laundry detergent or cleaning product constituents, and further comprising from 2 to 20% by weight of at least one fatty alcohol sulfate, based on the tablet weight and less than 1 % by weight of nonionic surfactants based on the tablet weight and having a melting point below 60.degree.C.
