The present invention is a truss system and method of installation for a mine roof having a pair of mine roof bolts 12,24, a pair of truss brackets 22,24, a pair of U-shaped bolts 38,46, a pair of holders 52,54, a steel cable 66, and barrel and wedge assemblies 70. The truss brackets are anchored to a mine roof by the mine roof bolts 12,14 which include an expansion assembly 18 anchored in resin 20. The U-shaped bolts 38,46 connect to the trusses, the holders 52,54 connect to the U-shaped bolts, and the cable 66 extends between the holders. The cable is tensioned by moving the barrel and wedge assemblies 70 along the length of the cable. |
