The terminal block contains an insulating housing (2) containing a connecting strip (4) and a separable contact device (8) of electrically conducting material that is mounted to enable displacement between a connecting position, in which it is in contact with a neutral conductor (6) outside the terminal block and with the connecting strip, and a retracted position, in which it is no longer in contact with the neutral conductor. The contact device has a first protrusion (26) that reaches to the connecting strip. The end of the strip on the side of the neutral conductor strip has a second protrusion (30) that reaches to the contact device and contacts the first protrusion in the connecting position, whereas in the retracted position there is no contact between the contact device and the connecting strip.
