A method of sublimation transfer printing is disclosed. The method includes placing a transfer substrate (10) containing dye (7) adjacent to the textile material (2) that is to be printed on. The transfer substrate (10) is a dye-absorbing, gas permeable substrate containing dye (7) thereon. A vacuum is applied to the textile material (2) and the transfer substrate (10), the vacuum causing the transfer substrate (10) to be securedly held against the textile material (2). A heated gas is introduced adjacent to the transfer substrate (10) and the textile material (2), the heated gas being drawn through the transfer substrate (10) and the textile material (2) so as to cause sublimation of the dye (7) in the transfer substrate (10) and transfer dye (7) to the textile material (2). |
