Garment comprises molded elastic sections with projecting supple and shock-absorbing pads (5, 6, 9) situated in zones some distance from the fragile areas of the body, protecting them while the wearer is lying down. When the wearer is lying in a prone position, for example, a triangular pad (5) on the chest exerts a thrust on the spine in the thoracic region. When the wearer is lying on one side, a pad (6) exerts a thrust on the dorsal section of the spine, reducing its curvature. Other pads are designed to protect vulnerable areas of the body from pressure sores.
