The marking pen has a writing tip (2.2) fitted endface-on to a tube (2.1). A closing cap (3) fits round the tip when it is not in use. The cap has a closing sector (3.3) in the region of the insertion aperture (3.1). The cap is made in the form of a tennis ball of diameter greater than the greatest diameter of the tube in the region of the closing part (2.4)
