CAMPYLOBACTER AUTOINDUCER

摘要

A method of promoting the growth of a Campylobacter bacterium, comprises growing the bacterium in the presence of an autoinducer produced in by a Gram-negative bacterium in response to noradrenaline in serum SAPI medium. The autoinducer is a material which i) is stable for 45 minutes at 100 DEG C; ii) is stable to lyophilisation; iii) binds at least partially to an anion exchange resin; iv) is soluble in water, and substantially insoluble in methanol, ethanol, propanol, butanol, n-hexane, CHCl3 and DMSO; v) is capable of binding at least 2% of its own weight (based on the unbound material) of Fe; and vii) it has a molecular weight of from 300 to 1000 Daltons.
