The lower leg (4) orthosis comprises a collar (2) which is attached at a joint to a foot collar (6) with at least one supporting leaf spring (22), which connects the lower leg collar to the toot collar or a shoe. The width ( alpha ) and depth (T) of a leg slit (16) and supporting leaf spring is calculated with respect to the weight of the patient, so that the foot may move freely up and down.
