Lamp body for production of motor vehicle lamps is molded or cast from resin composition comprising rubber reinforced styrene resin and antistatic material

A lamp body (I) for the production of a motor vehicle lamp is claimed. A warmed hot plate is pressed against (I) in order to melt a portion of (I) followed by bonding of the melted portion under pressure to a lamp lens. (I) is molded or cast from a resin composition comprising 100 pts.wt. rubber reinforced styrene resin and 0.1-5 pts.wt. of an antistatic material. Independent claims are included for (i) a process to produce a motor vehicle lamp by melting a portion of (I) and bonding the melted portion to a lamp lens under pressure and (ii) the resulting motor vehicle lamp.
