<p>A hay distributor (11) that distributes large rectangular hay bales (B) or flakes of hay, operates on a conveyor principle. The bales (B) are advanced from the bed of the vehicle (VB) to its edge (E') as the vehicle (V) is driven, whereupon by mechanical action the bale (B) is cleaved to flake. A stabilizer rod (71) optionally maintains the bale in compact form prior to flaking, and a base plate (20') is provided, forming a point of retrofit attachment of the main frame (30) of the distributor (11) to the vehicle bed (VB). The main frame (30) includes rails (110, 111), having an initial end and a terminal end (36) or loading portal (82), along which a hay bale (B) is advanced, towards inclined-adjustable ramps (38a, 38b) which cause natural cleavage of the bale (B) into individual flakes for animal feeding.</p> |
