The air extraction installation is particularly for a dwelling housing and is provided with a central mechanical ventilation system (2) with suction points (6,7,8) in various rooms, such as bathroom, toilet and kitchen. In the kitchen is an extraction hood (12) and an air supplement fan (3) is installed to aspirate extra air so as to form an air curtain against the hood. With an extraction capacity of 75 to 150 m3/hour in the room where the suction hood is located, the supplementary air around the hood is blown at an output of approximately 50 to 90 m3/hour.
