The invention relates to a device for transferring a film from a support strip (6) onto an article or a substrate (9). Said device comprises the following elements: a housing body (2, 3), a support strip supply reel (4), a support strip take-up reel (5) and an application element (7). The support strip (6) is guided from the support strip supply reel (4) to the application element (7) and around said element back to the support strip take-up reel (5). Said application element (7) has an application surface (8) and an application tip (8A). The film can be transferred onto the surface (8) of the article (9) optionally via the application surface (10) or via the application tip.
