The present invention relates to polynucleotide and polypeptide molecules for a seven transmembrane domain receptor designated zsig56. The polypeptides, and polynucleotides encoding them are useful treating pathological conditions in such diverse tissue, as kidney, thyroid, gastrointestinal, CSN and reproductive. Such conditions include hypertension, hyper- and hypothyroidism, neurotransmission, gastrointestinal motility, inflammation and reproduction. The present invention also includes antibodies to the zsig56 polypeptides.
