A thermostatic valve head actuator has a metallic housing cover (2) joined to a housing cup (1) or to a phosphor bronze bellows (3) by a laser weld joint. A thermostatic valve head actuator has a metallic housing which consists of a cup (1), a cover (2) and a bellows (3) joined by weld joints and which is filled with an expansible substance (6). The novelty is that: (a) the weld joint between the cup (1) and the cover (2) is a laser weld joint; or (b) the bellows (3) consists of phosphor bronze and is joined to the housing cover (2) by a laser weld joint. An Independent claim is also included for production of the above actuator, in which the cup and cover parts (1, 2) are tin or zinc coated before laser welding and/or are lacquered, phosphated and/or coated after laser welding.
