The invention relates to an electric machine (2), comprising an external stator and an internal, rotationally mounted rotor which has a rotor core assembly (18) and a rotor shaft (4), said rotor shaft being connected to the rotor core assembly (18) in a rotationally fixed manner (4). The rotor is hollow and the rotor shaft (4) is configured as a spider shaft with a number of web segments (28, 46) arranged on the periphery. Said web segments are only adjacent to approximately linear contact surfaces on the rotor core assembly (18) or an intermediate shaft (26) in order to form small heat transfer surfaces.
