An actuator comprising control means disposed in a housing and adapted for controlling the rotation of a rotary shaft through drive means, rotary shaft displacement detecting means disposed in the housing and adapted for detecting the rotational displacement of the rotary shaft, the rotary shaft born rotatably, a permanent magnet integrated coaxially with the rotary shaft, magnetic field generating means for generating a magnetic field to produce a rotating force in the permanent magnet, and a temperature sensor for measuring the temperature of the permanent magnet.
