The invention relates to a fuel cell stack (1) with an admission (2) and evacuation channel (3) for the oxidizing agent or the fuel and with branching channels (4) leading from the admission and evacuation channel to a cathode or anode chamber of the fuel cell stack. The diameter of the channels vary in such a way that at least one fuel enters the branching channels evenly distributed spatially, thereby achieving appropriate performance-enhancing distribution of the fuel in the fuel cell stack.
