The invented device for pressing a detergent rod, i.e. a rod formed by soap, active synthetic detergent or a mixture of those substances comprises a die, whose at least one surface for pressing the rod is provided with at least one elastomer coating (5, 6) with thickness less than 200 micrometers. The device can be employed for pressing rods, during which pressing process an easy reproducible surface decoration, such as emblem or trademark is preferably used.
