NICKEL-PLATED HIGH-CARBON STEEL WIRE FOR SPRING AND PRODUCING METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A nickel-plated high-carbon steel wire for a spring and a producing method thereof are provided to avoid the generation of a crack or peeling on a plated cover film by controlling hardness of the nickel-plated cover film of a finally drawn steel wire. CONSTITUTION: An amount of a brightening agent added to a plating solution and the density of plating current are controlled when plating the surface of a high-carbon steel wire in a nickel plating solution. The nickel-plated layer has 120-130 of Vickers hardness on the surface of the high-carbon steel wire. A final steel wire is produced by drawing out the steel wire plated with nickel to maintain the hardness of the nickel-plated layer.
