PURPOSE: A touch screen overlay apparatus used in for example a PDA is provided to combine with an upper rigid surface of the touch screen for reducing undesirable characteristics of the upper surface, and shield the touch screen surface. CONSTITUTION: A touch screen overlay apparatus(100) comprises a flexible membrane(101) and a frame(102). The flexible membrane(101) is made of a transparent flexible material such as a mylar film or a low/middle density tetrafluorpolyethylene. The flexible membrane(101) includes a plurality of protruded dome type areas(120a-120l). The protruded dome type areas(120a-120l) can be formed in or adhered to a body of the membrane. The areas can be temporarily transformed to physically touch with the touch screen(20). The frame(102) is used for eliminating the flexible membrane(101) from a set position of an upper rigid contact surface of the touch screen(20). The frame(102) has a rectangular shape made of semi-rigid material such as plastic. The frame(102) is combined with hinge members(103,105,107), and inter-locked with hinge members(104,107) arranged on a surface of a housing(16).
