PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for mapping hard disk partition and block device to logical drives in a computer system are provided to eliminate necessity of computer system rebooting for an access to a computer-readable drive and maintain all hard disk partitions and block devices at an accessible state, thereby saving producing time and resource and forming more efficient producing process. CONSTITUTION: A computer system comprises at least one processor and at least one computer-readable drive having at least one partition. The computer system further comprises a production process code containing instructions for permitting the at least one processor to set up, without requesting system rebooting for an access to the at least one computer-readable drive, a predetermined internal data structure required for supporting at least one partition following an initial preparation of the at least one computer-readable drive.
