The chair has an extension (5) stored between the bottom (3) and the upholstered area (4) which can be slid on guides with guide rolls (8) in order to transform the chair into a bed and is held in a horizontal position by a support mechanism (6,13,14,16,17,18), consisting of pivotally joined profiles. The folding mechanism serves as a leg (10) for the extension (5), leaving space from below for better ventilation and easier cleaning.
