In a fan apparatus comprising a fan (11) having a plurality of blades (11b) and producing an air flow (P) with revolution thereof, and at least one shroud (10; 10a, 10b) disposed upstream of the fan (11) and introducing the air flow (P) to the suction side of the fan (11), damping means (10b1, 40A, 40C; 40B) for taking in the air flow (P) coming out of the fan (11) and damping a radial component (VA) of the air flow (P) under an interference action is provided outside an outer periphery of the fan (11). With such a construction, the collision noise that is a dominant noise source can be reduced, and the noise generated due to the revolution of the fan (11) can be reduced sufficiently. <IMAGE> |
