摘要 PURPOSE: A Zr hydrogen storage alloy for secondary battery electrode is provided to have high discharge capacity and high efficiency discharge ability suitable as cathode active material of Ni-MH battery. CONSTITUTION: The Zr hydrogen storage alloy suitable as cathode active material of Ni-MH(nickel-metal hydride) battery having excellent discharge capacity of about 300-400mAh/g and high efficiency discharge such as rate capability of 80% or more based on the value at the discharge current density of 25mA/g is defined by formula I, that is, Zr(1-x)Tix(MnuVvNiy)z (wherein X, U, V, Y and Z are each atom portions of alloy forming elements; 0<X&le;0.2, 0.5&le;U&le;0.7, 0.5&le;V&le;0.7, 1.0&le;U&le;1.4 and 0.84&le;U&le;1.0. The alloy is formed by substituting a portion of Zr with Ti and optimally controlling compositions of elements constituting Zr-Mn-V-Ni four membered alloys.
