PURPOSE: A keyboard is designed to lay naturally a left hand thumb on a space key for keying a space between characters or moving a cursor to a right side and a right hand thumb on a back space for erasing a miswritten character to a left side so that it can make miswritten character modification easy and make a data input efficient. CONSTITUTION: A keyboard comprises a group of data input keys(13,23), a group of function keys(15,25), a group of calculation keys(19,29) and a group of direction change keys(17,27). When a user lay both hands on the group of data input keys(13,23), a left hand thumb is put on a space key(13h) and a right hand thumb is put on a back space key(13d) although the user does not make an intention. The function of the space key and the back space key can converted into that of each other by using a conversion key(23d) located at a right upper corner of the group of data input keys(13,23). The keyboard includes a key conversion display lamp(26d) notifying the status of the space and the back space key function.
