PURPOSE: A laser scanning unit is provided to simplify the structure and the operation of a laser printer scanning element by omitting an f.theta lens, a polygon mirror and a motor for driving the polygon mirror and realize a high resolution by using micro mirror array of a plurality of rows. CONSTITUTION: A laser scanning unit includes a laser source for emitting diverging beams according to a video signal, a collimator lens(202) for converting the diverging beams into parallel beams, a micrometer mirror array(203) including a plurality of micro mirror units for reflecting the parallel beams to predetermined positions on a photosensitive drum, a micro mirror array control part(204) for controlling the plurality of micro mirror units to reflect the parallel beams to the predetermined positions on the photosensitive drum, a video signal control part(206) for generating a control data of the micro mirror units and the video signal corresponding to images to print, and a synchronizing signal detecting sensor(207) for detecting a synchronizing signal for synchronizing the video signal.
