In the present invention there are disclosed modified oligodeoxyribonucleotides of the general formula I, in which the individual general symbols have specific meaning. The invented modified oligodeoxyribonucleotides are substances exhibiting antiviral activity and therefore they can be employed in the form of pharmaceutical preparations for treating viral infections and their prophylaxis. In the present invention there are also claimed intermediates for preparing the above-indicated modified oligodeoxyribonucleotides.
